The Dream

Chill out, baby, it’s all just a dream.
Sometimes things aren’t what they seem.
Chill out, honey, as our realities teem
Relax and pay attention to the musical theme.

Now this one poet walked the boulevard of evident invisibles
And he taught me that our accepted thought structure is vestigial.
And I don’t know about you, but I know that my moon
Waxes sentimental, philosophical, incoercible.

Let’s fall back in love with the quintessential,
that sense that the universe is fully reverential
Don’t mean to interrupt; don’t wanna be an intrusion,
But don’t you think this bullshit here is just an illusion.

Chill out, baby, it’s all just a dream.
Sometimes things aren’t what they seem
Chill out, honey, as our realities teem
Relax and pay attention to the musical theme.

Energy’s the reality, the cloudy veil’s the mass;
But they certainly wouldn’t teach that in any civilized class.
The pursuit of convenience is a human addiction,
but simplicity and presence gently ease that affliction.

It’s too late to choose, too early to lose;
Fighting these demons leaves one hell of a bruise.
Fear digging down deep from up above in the rafters,
Tearin’ apart your spirit just to see what you’re after.

Chill out, baby, it’s all just a dream.
Sometimes things aren’t what they seem
Chill out, honey, as our realities teem
Relax and pay attention to the musical theme.

We ain’t got no choice; we’re in this together.
No matter the tension, we can’t break the tether.
There’s no need to fight, no need to get hostile;
It’s your soul alone that can sing your gospel.
